Wheelchair Accessible Summer Fun in the Hudson Valley

New Yorkers take their summers very seriously because about half of the year is filled with cold weather.  So make sure you don’t waste your weekends and check out these accessible attractions for anyone in the family.

1. Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie NY – great for children ages 0-6, this place has many different interesting exhibits with names such as WonderDome, Imagination Playground, Rivertown, and Hyde Park Mastadon.  Birthday reservations welcome.  Website here.

2. Playland Park, Rye NY – fun little amusement park with rides for everyone, including roller coasters, boating, mini-golf, and a national historic site.  Click here for more.

3. Philipsburg Manor, Sleepy Hollow NY – an old-style attraction with farm animals and a mill that shows how Sleepy Hollow used to look in the beginning.  Also, take a stroll in downtown Sleepy Hollow with all the nice places to eat and vistas.

4. Splash Down Beach, Fishkill NY – a water park for both thrill-seekers and children.
